Phillip Neil

Professor

Prof. Phil­lip Nell is a Chaired Pro­fessor at the In­sti­tute for In­ter­na­tional Busi­ness at WU Wien and head of WU’s Com­pet­ence Center for Emer­ging Mar­kets and CEE. He is also af­fil­i­ated with the De­part­ment of Stra­tegic Man­age­ment and Glob­al­iz­a­tion at Copen­ha­gen Busi­ness School.

Phil­lip Nell has stud­ied In­ter­na­tional Eco­nom­ics and Busi­ness Ad­min­is­tra­tion in Ger­many, France, and Italy. He re­ceived his doc­tor­ate and hab­il­it­a­tion from WU Wien (Vi­enna Uni­versity of Eco­nom­ics and Busi­ness).

Be­fore join­ing aca­demia, he gained con­sid­er­able in­dustry ex­per­i­ence as a strategy con­sult­ant with Ro­land Ber­ger Strategy Con­sult­ants. He has con­duc­ted pro­jects and re­search in co­oper­a­tion with firms such as Wal­ter Bau, Alc­atel, Or­acle, SAP, Ger­resheimer, Kone, Puma, Boehringer In­gel­heim, A-Tec In­dus­tries, and T-Sys­tems as well as non-­profit or­gan­iz­a­tions such as Diakonie, giv­ing him lots of in­sights into man­age­ment prac­tice.

Phil­lip Nell is widely ex­per­i­enced both in de­gree-­course and ex­ec­ut­ive edu­ca­tion and his teach­ing has re­ceived mul­tiple awards such as the CEMS course of the year award in 2015 and 2016. Be­sides Copen­ha­gen and Vi­enna, he has taught at ESADE Busi­ness School in Spain, and uni­versit­ies in Padova, Linz, St. Gal­len, Prague, and Rio de Janeiro.

Mike Murray

Mike Murray is a Principal Consultant at a&dc.

He holds an Msc in Organisational Psychology, UMIST.

A business psychologist with over 18 years’ consultancy experience, who has worked with a wide range of public and private sector clients in the UK and overseas. Because of his 13 years of previous experience as an international marketing manager, Mike understands many of the challenges faced by individual managers working in large organisations.

Mike’s interests focus on identifying what ‘good’ looks like in any job, and then helping organisations to define and measure the skills and qualities which will lead to outstanding performance in particular roles. His experience includes identifying talent for recruitment and promotion and developing and coaching managers at all levels from graduates to CEO positions so that they become even more effective. He has done business in over 50 countries around the world and is able to quickly assimilate the culture of an organisation and the behaviours which are linked with success in a wide variety of sectors and roles.

He has industry experience in the following companies: FMCG (Nestle, Danone, Kraft), Retail (ASDA, Marks & Spencer, Waitrose), Investment Banking and Finance, (Morgan Stanley, UBS, Credit Suisse, JP Morgan, Visa Europe), Construction (Balfour Beatty, Wates, Scott Wilson plc), Healthcare and pharmaceutical (Novartis, Eisai, Medimmune), Oil & Gas (BP), Public Sector (Metropolitan Police, Crown Prosecution Service, DWP, HMRC, UK Fire & Rescue Service, European Space Agency).

Dr. Alexander Schwartz

Alexander Schwartz is a strategic advisor with over fifteen years of consulting experience, eight of which he spent with McKinsey & Company focusing on business strategy, M&A and business development. He then joined ARACON Consulting as a partner and continued his strategic advisory work across Europe and Asia. In recent years, he has further specialised in advising European companies entering Iran.

Alexander has exceptionally strong analytics and a deep understanding of the chemical industry and the energy and agriculture sector. He has a PhD in Chemistry from Harvard University and is a visiting researcher at ETH Zurich, a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University and a Research Scholar at IIASA.

He has traveled many times to Iran, has developed a love for the country and is very keen to foster better relationships between Iran and Austria.

Alexander is one of the founders of Vienna Global Leaders.

Dr. Pari Namazie

Pari Namazie holds a PhD in International Human Resources Management and a BA (Hons) in Business Studies. She contributes to academic articles and book chapters, and lectures Intercultural Communication at the Centre for Global Politics at Freie Univeristaet Berlin and International HRM at the FH Wien.

She has over 20 years of experience working as an HR and organisational development consultant to multinational and international companies in the Middle East and Europe. Pari has worked with all organisational levels from senior executives to project teams providing HR and organisational improvement solutions in the form of one on one executive coaching to small and large group workshops in the areas of intercultural competence, leadership development, change management, organisational and individual motivation, commitment and engagement. Pari’s approach is to help teams and organisations identify their inner strengths, find common goals and reach sustainable results.

In her HR consulting role, she has worked with companies on recruitment and selection, performance management, motivation, learning and development. She has designed and delivered assessment and development centres, and implemented 360 feedback and career counselling for her clients.
