Prof. Phillip Nell is a Chaired Professor at the Institute for International Business at WU Wien and head of WU’s Competence Center for Emerging Markets and CEE. He is also affiliated with the Department of Strategic Management and Globalization at Copenhagen Business School.
Phillip Nell has studied International Economics and Business Administration in Germany, France, and Italy. He received his doctorate and habilitation from WU Wien (Vienna University of Economics and Business).
Before joining academia, he gained considerable industry experience as a strategy consultant with Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. He has conducted projects and research in cooperation with firms such as Walter Bau, Alcatel, Oracle, SAP, Gerresheimer, Kone, Puma, Boehringer Ingelheim, A-Tec Industries, and T-Systems as well as non-profit organizations such as Diakonie, giving him lots of insights into management practice.
Phillip Nell is widely experienced both in degree-course and executive education and his teaching has received multiple awards such as the CEMS course of the year award in 2015 and 2016. Besides Copenhagen and Vienna, he has taught at ESADE Business School in Spain, and universities in Padova, Linz, St. Gallen, Prague, and Rio de Janeiro.

A business psychologist with over 18 years’ consultancy experience, who has worked with a wide range of public and private sector clients in the UK and overseas. Because of his 13 years of previous experience as an international marketing manager, Mike understands many of the challenges faced by individual managers working in large organisations.
Mike’s interests focus on identifying what ‘good’ looks like in any job, and then helping organisations to define and measure the skills and qualities which will lead to outstanding performance in particular roles. His experience includes identifying talent for recruitment and promotion and developing and coaching managers at all levels from graduates to CEO positions so that they become even more effective. He has done business in over 50 countries around the world and is able to quickly assimilate the culture of an organisation and the behaviours which are linked with success in a wide variety of sectors and roles.

Dr. Alexander Schwartz
Alexander Schwartz is a strategic advisor with over fifteen years of consulting experience, eight of which he spent with McKinsey & Company focusing on business strategy, M&A and business development. He then joined ARACON Consulting as a partner and continued his strategic advisory work across Europe and Asia. In recent years, he has further specialised in advising European companies entering Iran.
Alexander has exceptionally strong analytics and a deep understanding of the chemical industry and the energy and agriculture sector. He has a PhD in Chemistry from Harvard University and is a visiting researcher at ETH Zurich, a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University and a Research Scholar at IIASA.
He has traveled many times to Iran, has developed a love for the country and is very keen to foster better relationships between Iran and Austria.

Dr. Pari Namazie
Pari Namazie holds a PhD in International Human Resources Management and a BA (Hons) in Business Studies. She contributes to academic articles and book chapters, and lectures Intercultural Communication at the Centre for Global Politics at Freie Univeristaet Berlin and International HRM at the FH Wien.
She has over 20 years of experience working as an HR and organisational development consultant to multinational and international companies in the Middle East and Europe. Pari has worked with all organisational levels from senior executives to project teams providing HR and organisational improvement solutions in the form of one on one executive coaching to small and large group workshops in the areas of intercultural competence, leadership development, change management, organisational and individual motivation, commitment and engagement. Pari’s approach is to help teams and organisations identify their inner strengths, find common goals and reach sustainable results.
In her HR consulting role, she has worked with companies on recruitment and selection, performance management, motivation, learning and development. She has designed and delivered assessment and development centres, and implemented 360 feedback and career counselling for her clients.
